Agencies are required to develop and implement an enterprise risk management (ERM) process to identify risks that may affect agency missions and resources. Two key examples of this application in today’s federal space include risks related to disaster relief funding, and financial statement risk reporting. What are the potential risks to disaster relief funding? Learn about OMB guidance in M-18-14 and how ERM can be
leveraged to help manage risks related to disaster relief fund. What is the effect of risks on an agency’s financial position? This session will also discuss the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board toolbox for risk reporting. Learn what accounting standards exist and are under development to account for the financial effects on assets, liabilities, and net cost of risks identified during your ERM process.
